The Enchi District office of the Forestry Commission has detained 13 illegal miners who infiltrated the Boi Tano and Jema Asemkrom forest reserves in the Western North Region.

Several pieces of equipment and temporary shelters built by the miners inside the reserve were set on fire last night as part of an operation organized by the Western North Regional Forest Services Division.

The Boi Tano and Jema Asemkrom forest reserves are among the green spaces that have come under attack by illegal miners.
